1. Agreement
By creating an account or purchasing any SecByte product you accept these terms, the Code of Conduct and the Exam Policies, which are incorporated by reference. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
2. Accounts
- One account per person. Accounts are personal and non-transferable.
- You must provide your true legal name — it is printed on your certificate and cannot be changed after issuance except to correct an error.
- You are responsible for all activity under your credentials and must notify us immediately of any compromise.
3. Vouchers, purchases and coupons
- Exam vouchers are valid for 12 months from issuance unless stated otherwise and are tied to your account.
- Coupons, scholarship awards and discounts are single-use unless explicitly marked otherwise, non-transferable and cannot be combined.
- Prices are shown at checkout in the stated currency and exclude any taxes or bank charges levied in your jurisdiction.
- Manual/offline payments are activated only after verification by our team.
4. Refunds
- Unused vouchers: full refund within 14 days of purchase.
- Once an exam attempt has started, the voucher is consumed and is non-refundable.
- Diploma programmes: refundable within 14 days of enrolment provided no more than one module has been completed.
- Scholarship-funded and coupon-funded enrolments carry no cash refund value.
- Refunds are returned via the original payment method within 10 business days of approval.
5. Examinations
Exams are delivered online under the conditions set out in the Exam Policies. We may pause, reschedule or invalidate an attempt affected by technical failure, and will grant a replacement attempt at no cost where the fault is ours.
6. Credentials
- Credentials are issued to individuals, remain the intellectual property of SecByte LLC, and are licensed to you for accurate professional representation.
- You may state your credential title, number and issue date. You may not alter certificate artwork, imply accreditation we do not hold, or claim a credential you have not earned.
- We may suspend or revoke a credential for proven misconduct, fraud, or material misrepresentation, following the appeal process in the Code of Conduct.
7. Acceptable use
You may not scrape, reverse engineer, resell, republish or share exam content, question banks, lab material or course content. Attempting to attack, overload or gain unauthorised access to our systems — outside an explicitly authorised training environment — is prohibited and may be reported to the relevant authorities.
8. Third-party sites
learn.secbyte.org (hands-on labs) and services.secbyte.org (professional services) are operated by SecByte LLC under their own additional terms where stated. Any external site we link to is outside our control.
9. Disclaimers and liability
Services are provided "as is". We do not guarantee that holding a credential will result in employment, promotion or recognition by any specific employer or regulator. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SecByte LLC's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the product giving rise to the claim in the preceding 12 months. We exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account for breach of these terms, non-payment, or conduct that threatens exam integrity or other users. You may close your account at any time; issued credentials remain valid and verifiable unless revoked for cause.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state, save where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
