1. Scope
This policy covers purchases from SecByte LLC on secbyte.org: exam vouchers, certification exam attempts, diploma programme enrolments, online courses, and professional cybersecurity service engagements. Where a written engagement agreement exists for a services project, that agreement takes precedence over this page.
2. Refundable purchases
- Unused exam vouchers — full refund if requested within 14 days of purchase and no exam attempt has been started.
- Diploma programmes — full refund if requested within 14 days of enrolment and no more than one module has been completed.
- Online courses — full refund if requested within 14 days of purchase and no more than 20% of the course content has been accessed.
- Duplicate or failed payments — refunded in full once verified, regardless of the time windows above.
- Our fault — if a technical failure on our side prevents delivery and we cannot provide a replacement attempt or access, we refund in full.
3. Non-refundable purchases
- An exam voucher after an attempt has been started — the voucher is consumed at that point.
- An issued certificate or credential, once generated and delivered.
- Enrolments or vouchers funded by a scholarship, coupon or promotional award — these carry no cash value.
- Professional service engagements for work already performed and delivered.
- Requests made after the applicable window in section 2 has expired.
4. Cancellation
- Exam bookings — you may cancel or reschedule a booked attempt from your dashboard before the attempt begins; the voucher remains valid for the rest of its validity period.
- Programme enrolment — you may withdraw at any time from your dashboard or by emailing us. Withdrawal after the refund window ends stops future access but does not create a refund entitlement.
- Recurring subscriptions — if you hold a recurring plan, you can cancel at any time. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period; you keep access until that date and are not charged again. We do not pro-rate part-used billing periods.
- Service engagements — either party may cancel a scheduled engagement in writing before work begins. Once testing or assessment work has started, fees for completed work remain payable.
5. How to request a refund
Email contact@secbyte.org from the email address on your account with the subject line "Refund request". Include:
- Your full name and account email.
- The product or programme name.
- The order or payment reference shown on your confirmation page or receipt.
- The date of purchase and the amount paid.
- The reason for the request.
We acknowledge requests within 2 business days and decide within 7 business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Once we submit the refund, the funds normally appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. Refunds for manually verified or offline payments are returned through the same channel used to pay.
6. Failed, duplicate and unrecognised payments
If you were charged twice, charged without receiving access, or see a charge you do not recognise, contact us first at contact@secbyte.org with the transaction date and amount. We investigate and, where the charge is not valid, refund it in full. Raising a chargeback with your bank before contacting us usually takes longer to resolve; we will still cooperate fully with any dispute your bank opens.
7. Payment processing
Payments are processed through our authorised payment service providers, including Stripe. Card details are handled by the processor under its own security and privacy practices; SecByte does not receive or store full card numbers. Refunds are issued through the same processor.
8. Support
Payment and refund support: contact@secbyte.org. Phone: +880 1680 032529 or +880 1521 729165. We reply to email within 1–2 business days.
